I would like to take out the equity in a house that my husband and I purchased around eight years ago. My husband died in 2003, leaving the house to my children and I. I thought about selling the home, but would rather get the equity out. I don't know much about home equity, nor how to go by receiving information on the amount in the house. My house has been appraised at $60,000.
